Contemporary digital devices can be a barrier to effectively communicating emotion when even emoticons present limitations. This thesis focused on developing a visualization system using abstract, patterns and hierarchy to express the emotions that people are experiencing. This visualization system is the foundation of a chatting app Visemo which uses the phone's sensors to read biodata and transform it into emotional expression. It will help people convey complicated feelings and let others give empathetic support.

Six basic emotions: fear, sadness, anger, joy, surprise, disgust

compound emotion - Users can have one or more “basic” emotions at the same time or having one more compound emotions (complex emotions).

Emotional intensity goes higher, saturation gets higher. (intensity+, saturation+) Lighter colors are closer to positive; darker colors are closer to negative. (positive+, lighteness+)
